Hi! My name is Kristina Sergi and I am a Year 12 student at Bethlehem College in Ashfield, New South Wales, Australia. I am an active member of my Parish Church in Dulwich Hill, Sydney - Church of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Paul of the Cross, Dulwich Hill.
I am fortunate enough to have been selected to attend this years' World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland where I will be with 2 million other Pilgrims from around the world as we journey to deepen and strengthen our faith.
During this Pilgrimage, I will be travelling with other Pilgrims from Bethlehem College, Ashfield, De la Salle Ashfield and Casimir Catholic College, Marrickville in our bus group for 'The Saints of Italy Tour'. We leave Australia on Saturday 16th of July ..... we are already super excited for what the future holds.
The Saints of Italy Tour includes 3 buses which travel through Italy and Poland on the way to the final destination for World Youth Day, Krakow in Poland.
We visit many places (which can be seen in the official itinerary attached,) starting in Italy - Venice, Florence, Assisi, Rome and then into Poland - Warsaw, Czestochowa, Wadowice, Zakopane and finally, to Krakow for the final destination of the Pilgrimage.
I am very fortunate to be supported by my Church Parish, Church of the Immaculate Conception and Saint Paul of the Cross, Dulwich Hill and St Paul of the Cross Primary School (and of course, my parents!). With my School, Bethlehem College, we have done some collective fundraising, as it is a once in a lifetime Pilgrimage. Whilst spectacular it doesn't come cheap! But if we just sat around and thought about money we would never do anything!
I am extremely lucky to have such a faithful community with my Church Parish, Primary School (my old school in fact!) and Bethlehem College. I am also very grateful to be supported and associated with all of my community! Thank you to all for your kind messages and well wishes as I prepare for my World Youth Day Pilgrimage and journey of faith.
Well, until next time!
