Only 13 more sleeps!
This morning at the 10am Mass Father Kim surprised me by calling me up in front of the congregation to offer me a special blessing as this is my last Mass at my home parish. I really was not expecting anything but the support I have gotten from my community in the lead up to WYD has been overwhelming.
What you might not know, is that on Friday a seminary student, Moses, who has been part of our parish for the last 6 months, was ordained as a Deacon. Moses delivered an amazing and thought provoking Homily at todays Mass. Something that really stuck with me was his thoughts on God's role within our lives which linked very well with todays readings. Moses said, All God asks of you is to do the very best that you can do and then have the faith to let God do the rest. It was fabulous to hear this young, articulate Deacon who spoke from a platform of true faith...Food for thought.
Next Sunday is the commissioning Mass at Saint Mary's Cathedral for all of Sydney's pilgrims before the journey begins. I am very excited as the Mass is only 6 days before we leave! It will be good to see and interact with everyone from the Sydney Catholic Schools and their communities. I'm sure the atmosphere will be electric.
Bless you all until next time,
Kristina :)
P.S. My sister managed to sneak a photo of me receiving my blessing at Mass today.
